- Recycled cotton is a shorter fibre and abrades faster than virgin cotton. In a sock, which is the highest-abrasion article we sell, that matters: expect the heel and toe to thin sooner than on an all-virgin-cotton sock. The 12% polyamide is there to slow it down.
